In early 2006 Mr Sage photocopied his extensive notes so that they could be made more easily available to the people of Luppitt, and also to those who were interested in Luppitt's history. Copies have already been placed in the Parish hall, as well as with the local library service, and I have now scanned the master photocopy 'set' to make this information available on the website. The archives themselves consist of four volumes, each with several hundred pages. To present this information, each volume has been scanned into PDF files, with one PDF file created for every 10 page of archive. Note that some additional pages were inserted at later dates, and these pages are marked with the preceding page number, followed by a, b, c etc. The PDFs are named by volume number followed by the relevant pages. There are also a set of indexes. These indexes cover all four volumes for a particular subject area, e.g. names, places, dates, etc. As the notes are so extensive the indexes will not cover every entry, so you may find other information that is not indexed. If you do gather extra information to add to the index when doing your research, your additions would be welcome, please email them to me.

Volume I of the notes was written in blue ink, which has not photocopied well. Some of this voume has been retraced in black ink, and this has made parts of this volume more challenging to read; the other volumes are more legible. Also note that reference to other resources such as photos is sometimes made, and these are not available.

As the archives are so large the Luppitt website doesn't have enough space to hold them (they total around 350MB). I am hosting the files elsewhere, but they are all reachable from this web page.

Each file is between 3MB and 5MB in size, so will take some time to download. If you need all the files, you will be better off contacting me to arrange getting a CD containg the entire set of notes. 3MB will take 30 seconds on 2Mb broadband, or 12 minutes on a modem connection!!
