'Luppitt Notes' by John Sage:
These archives are the result of Mr. Sage's research over the last 60+ years, and this material was referenced when writing his book 'Luppitt: Parish, Church, and People'. The material has been gathered into four volumes, ordered chronologically by the date of compilation, totalling approximately 1000 pages. Various handwritten indexes have also been compiled, and these have now been transcribed into electronic copies which will aid online searching. The archives themselves are obviously handwritten, and converting these to an electronic copy would be a massive task (even modern OCR can't cope with the flowing handwriting that is used!). So, the scanning process has resulted in PDF images of the archives pages.

Paintings by Robert Polhill Bevan (1865-1925)
Rober Polhill Bevan visited Applehays cottage in Clayhidon over several years to paint local landscapes. In early 1920 he moved to Marlpitt cottage in Luppitt, and lived there until 1925 when he was taken ill - he moved back to London, and died later that same year.

Read more about Mr Bevan here, or you can see some of his paintings by clicking on the links below. We hope to have more of his pictures to show in the near future:
